A Note From The President
I grew up here in Memphis and I have 11 siblings. I know what it’s like not to have enough food for everyone in your household. I often tell the story that fraternities and sororities blessed our family growing up. They arrived with food and clothes to help my mother. I feel like the tables have turned now. Together, we can bless other families that may be in the same position. I’m so grateful to join with people who are willing to share their time, talent and treasures. From the bottom of my heart, I sincerely thank you and pray God's blessing on all of you.
In
2020, Feed The Needy distributed 3,560 Thanksgiving baskets (234,000 pounds of
food) and supplied the City of Memphis (60) turkeys for the Thanksgiving Day
Dinner for the Homeless and Hungry. 2021, Feed The Needy distributed more than
2,550 Easter baskets (79,560 pound of food). February and March 2021, we
distributed 2,200 lunches to Our Heroes “First Responders and Healthcare
Worker” in addition to the lunches that was distribute, 180 non-essential
employees received an Easter food basket this past Easter holiday. We were
blessed with additional food items from our partners. As a result of their
generosity, we donated hundreds of items to several local food pantries and
increased the number we served.
It's time again, to gear up and support our communities. We’re looking forward to an awesome 2021 with your continued support.
Warm Regards,
Ruth
